TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I have been teaching students of all ages for over 30 years. Teaching requires great openness and flexibility, as students and art are constantly evolving. I offer students a broad knowledge in the field of visual arts, and communicate that experience through self-discovery, creative problem-solving and critical analysis. My aim is to inspire a feeling of success in every student by providing the tools to build confidence of concepts and materials. Through self-discovery a student can communicate his or her own passions. Success in the world today lies in the ability to communicate our passions. Art and art instruction have always been my passion. When I am not working on my own art, the next best thing is problem-solving with my students in the studio. I firmly believe that a person must be engaged in some sort of creative process to be whole, and that anyone can create.
